Classicora ("the app") is a public-domain classic books reading app. This page explains what information the app collects and how it is used.
If you create an account, we collect the name, email address, and password you provide. Passwords are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication (Google) and are never visible to us in plain text. Your name and email are stored in a profile record tied to your account so you can sign in again later. You can use the app as a guest without creating an account, in which case no account information is collected at all.
Your reading progress, saved quotes, favorites, and reading goal are always stored on your device. If you're signed in, this same data is also saved to your account (Cloud Firestore) so it carries over if you switch devices or reinstall the app. If you use the app as a guest, this data stays on your device only and is never uploaded anywhere. App display preferences (font, theme, etc.) always stay local regardless of sign-in status.
The app uses Google Firebase for account sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and to store your basic profile record (Cloud Firestore). We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and we do not sell or share your information with third parties.
You can permanently delete your account and profile at any time from within the app: go to Profile → Delete Account. This removes your account and profile record immediately and cannot be undone. Reading data stored locally on your device is not affected and can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
Classicora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date above.
